Welcome to my Website!
My name is Katie Alexander, and I am excited to embark on my third year as an art teacher. For the last two years, I have had the pleasure of working with the Incredible Children's Art Network (iCAN), teaching art full time at Adelante Charter School.
I graduated from the College of Creative Studies at UC Santa Barbara with a bachelor's degree in Fine Art, and went on to earn my teaching credential at Westmont College in 2011. I completed my student teaching at La Cumbre Junior High and San Marcos High School, where I taught freehand drawing and beginning and advanced painting. I am a serious artist myself, and have exhibited my own artwork in various shows in the Santa Barbara community.
To find out more about my education, personal interests, and background in art, check out my About Me page. Visit my Teaching Practice page to learn about my philosophy of teaching, the work I've been doing with iCAN, and my student teaching experience. See examples of work by students in my iCAN and student teaching classes on my Student Artwork page.
